‘If you want success, then do not rely on other people to do what YOU can do’
- Sasha Azevedo
Working a home business or 2, especially online with all the different formats available certainly helps us as entrepreneurs. But, maybe we could get our ideas, business or message to more people. Those who don’t know yet that they need a change in their lives or want to subsidize their income or even challenge themselves doing something different like an online home business and attraction/network marketing, or just blogging a message that will no doubt help someone somewhere. In a previous post, I talked about attraction marketing and using the great exposure that social media and articles can and do give to everyone involved with getting their message out there and branding themselves as some one of high value and even trust. But what else can you do to add to exposure and bring more people into your circle of online friends and/or business downline.
No matter what type of business or product/ service anyone has… even something like a garage sale, some form of marketing is the key to gaining the biggest success. So what other types of marketing can we a blogger or home business person or anyone do to spread the word and advertise our great product and/or finacial gain. I have recently taken to offline marketing to co-inside with my online presence as I want to reach out to a local audience, and also am looking at lower costs in marketing while my businesses continue in their growth stage. Most people have done some sort of offline marketing to some extent before. And in some some sense I am not going to give you a heap of new ideas, but as an entrepreneur, one must compete on the same playing field, find new ways and stand out from the crowd. I have started my offline marketing simply with the use of flyers. Both for letter box dropping (which doubles as a workout for the day
), and ‘tear off’ flyers which can be posted at most shops and community
notice boards. This is a great place to start, and has seen interest generated for my main marketing promotion for my second business. In fact within 1 day I had an inquiry from a ‘tear off’ flyer. So rest assured people DO read and seek information off line. I try to make sure that the person reading it is made to think about their current situation and if they have thought to change this situation, and where they can go or contact me to find outmore or DO something to make the changes in their life that they may be seeking.
Of course you will have your own ideas on what you want to say or how you want to market your opportunity, but I guess what I am looking for are the people who have asked themselves before ‘is there a better way?’, ‘I want to live life… how can I do that?’. Even with offline marketing , I still have online web addresses as people today like to see what you are talking about, and find out information for themselves. They feel less pressure. Of course some people prefer to hear from the ‘horses mouth’ so to speak and will ring you or email you straight up, so of course be prepared for this, know your product/service, but also have your questioning ready for the person who has contacted you.
Word of mouth is also a great vehicle for marketing and is the cheapest – FREE – and easiest for of marketing you can do for yourself and indeed for your business or blog, charity or group. When you have a conversation with someone, especially someone you have just met or haven’t seen for a long while some of the questions you are asked include what are you doing with yourself these days? … and what work are you doing? How do you answer… what do you say? Well firstly with the truth, but also in a way that you are not selling what you are doing. This can put off even the ‘bestest’ of friends and new associates. Why not put a new spin on it, a lot of people out there are pretty set in their thinking about working from home. Lets be real, a lot of people do at times look at you as if you have 2 heads, and begin to get nervous that you are going to hound them until they buy something or sign up. I had this experience the other day. You will not and can not sell or talk to anyone, especially those who build brick walls in front of you straight after you answer their question. But on the other hand how can you pass on the message about something that could change someones life. A great opportunity kept a secret isn’t so great if people do not know about it! “If people do not know about a product, service or opportunity, they will not ‘buy’ it”. A bit of a catch 22, but you can tell people about your opportunity, service or blog without alienating them and losing friends.
So what is the new spin? When someone asked what you are doing or where you are working why not have an answer that you have thought about. Why did YOU start a home business or blogging, what was the reasoning for you choice or did you have a problem you wanted fixing? Work on an answer for this pivotal question. Have 2 or 3 different responses for differing situations. And get the person asking the question thinking… You should not even have to state what products or opportunities you have in your answer and if the person wants to know more GREAT! An example might be – “You know how everyone seems to be talking about the global financial crisis lately… well I help people to find a way to become more financially and personally secure, and in time help change their financial or personal situation from crisis to comfortable, all from home online…” This is a simple example, but I think you will get the idea. You haven’t pushed anything onto the person you are talking to and they want to know more that is up to them. And if they are asking the questions THEY want to know more, and are therefore more willing to listen to more information about what you do.
So what other ideas are out there other than just talking to people or letterbox dropping etc. Well I guess in some instances the ‘sky’s the limit’, what do you think will
work for you. Some ideas can be web addresses painted/sticker-ed on your car, business cards, ‘sky writing’ (te he he… but it is used), t-shirts or other apparel, sponsoring events or local functions, newspaper ads, bumper stickers, fridge magnets and so on… I guess it is up to the imagination to how far and what type of offline marketing you can do for your business or service. I have touched on what I do, and which is cost effective for me and my offline marketing. Have a go and market your service, opportunity or blog offline as well.

Attraction Marketing Part II
by MslilPeta on Aug.31, 2009, under Being Online Hints & Tips Blog
Part two of attraction marketing is just that – Attraction marketing. From Attraction marketing part one we learned that attraction can also be defined as pull, so we effectively are going to pull our genuine leads or customers to us rather than use chasing them. One of the more effective ways of creating that pull or making yourself an attraction, or become a knowledge target as it were, by creating a presence online, with valuable insights, articles or the like about your passions and your passions for the ideas behind your product or item.
How are you going to be a presence, and a respected one at that? Easy…. hmmm…. Well if you think about it, it can be. What you are reading right now is some of what I have and am continuing to do to create a strong and respected presence on the internet. You guessed it, information and/or teaching. I like to be called a tutor rather than a teacher as I am continuing to learn and gather knowledge so I think tutor fits me better. But it is the same idea. People, your soon to be leads, are looking for information and want to learn and be guided. Lets face it… I have had to learn a lot, and thus searched for the information and guides to give me a rough path to follow so I can create my own presence and in turn create attraction marketing.
“Prospects and customers flock to those who demonstrate that they’re knowledgeable about a subject” . . . “Teaching Sells – The only way to get attention and make yourself stand out, is to take on the role of trusted adviser” - Ann Sieg
So what I am trying to get at is, get yourself out there, on the internet as best you can where ever you can. One of the best places to start is with social media. From my earlier Blog entry on this site about Social Media -
“ Social media is fun, but its biggest factor is the sharing of relevant content to your niche market or interests. If you can create valuable content, from your own research or using other peoples sites with links and so on, your followers will find you as a person of authority and in time trust and best of all, buy from you as they see fit.”
So you can start there, and become some who follows others who have a presence and some great content, and whist you are doing this you will be ever learning and experiencing yourself to start creating your own content and in time become an authority or a presence who people start to follow and look to guidance. And of course you will also generate leads for business because you have the means to build that all important rapport and respect before moving to close your sale.
So what about content, now the fun begins. As well as following others and learning what you can, document what you learn, tell people what you have done to get a result. Tell people why you like a certain marketing strategy. Tell people what they may already know, but in a fashion that appeals to them. Tell and teach people anything and everything that can be valuable alongside you and your ultimate goal. Write articles, build a knowledge base website, Blog, write a lens or 10 on Squidoo… just go for it! I can hear it now, I don’t know what to write or say…! Well maybe not, but again I
can be honest with you and say that I didn’t know what to say to start with either, but here you are reading an article from what I have learned all from the internet and liaising with my business team. Obviously don’t go out and steal someone else’s work, lets be fair they have had to do what you are doing now, but get out there and write, have a say. Your message will reach the targets it is meant to reach and will reward you. There are many ‘free’ options on the net to start documenting your knowledge and experience, eg Squidoo, YouTube (do a video if you like talking better), Ezine, Blog sites and so on. You can also link in people you have found to give you information, within most of the above listed sites, so people can read your opinion and that of other sources as well. It all helps and it helps each and everyone of us by sharing, comparing and acknowledging.
The main influences for me, both for gain more knowledge and for the shear fact that they share great content and ideas include; Katie Freiling, Ann Sieg, Mike Klingler, Jimmy D Brown, and Julia Stege. I have opted into these peoples newsletters and receive much information, and heaps of tips and hints to get out there and be the presence, knowledgeable presence, on the internet to build my business. And guess what, I am now one of the attraction marketing leads that these people have worked towards, which is the goal we are aiming for. People hungry for information or products that you have, opting in to your web site or lead capture page without you having to make them.
Well, in a nut shell, here is my formula for becoming your own ‘Pied Piper’ of the internet. Create, read, link and learn all you can, and then share what you have learned and done so that even more people will do the same. These people are being attracted to you through your new process of attraction marketing, and as such you are building your business with genuine, “I want what you have”, leads and sales.
The time is now – Go For It! Most of all Have Fun, Work Smarter, and don’t work Harder! – Attract those leads you are waiting for!
What we have to do is to be forever curiously testing new opinions and courting new impressions. – Walter Pater
Attraction Marketing Part I
by MslilPeta on Aug.22, 2009, under Being Online Hints & Tips Blog
Attraction Marketing, what is it I am talking about? Is it all smoke and mirrors or can it be a successful marketing strategy? Well this is what I hope to answer for you and help you on your way to understanding attraction marketing and begin to ‘attract’ the genuine leads into your home business from you focused niche.
So firstly what is marketing..really? In simple terms it is you having a product or service which can be desirable by the population, of which you communicate to the masses that you have this product they need by which ever means you see fit.
“Marketing is an integrated communications-based process through which individuals and communities discover that existing and newly-identified needs and wants may be satisfied by the products and services of others.” - Wikipedia
So if you have the product or service, marketing is the vehicle for getting it to those who need it or want it. We are bombarded by marketing continuously day by day, from many and various mediums and we all know what they are. Internet, Television, Radio, Newspaper and so on. I guess it is one of those things we get used to and in some cases tune out from, so how are you going to get the people looking and seeking you, for product above anyone and everyone else, find you and become your customers? This is where the ‘attraction’ comes in-conjunction with the marketing you do.
So ‘attraction’, what is it we are attracting? What is attraction? I have the product and I have done the marketing do I need attraction marketing? First – attraction – in a business sense. I am sure that a business person you want to attract as many people to your product as possible. Of course you do! It is a business after all and you are here to earn more than a living, and retire young enough to enjoy the spoils. Why not? It is what I want to do I’ll be honest… But having said that as a business person you want to attract as many people to you who actually want what you have not everyone and his dog of which where really having a sticky beak rather than the genuine customers you need. Attraction equals pull therefore you need to pull the right customers to you and your product. With attraction marketing we as business people need to become so attractive to prospective customers or clients, that it seems as if they are are beating down your door to get to you and your product, rather than you digging for your next sale.
“Attraction marketing is making yourself attractive in the eyes of your prospect. This concept has really taken hold in the business model of network marketing.” - Steve Lauri
So you may have the product, and like most business people you have embarked on a or many marketing campaigns, and you probably are getting results. But you know you want better results. We all do. Why have 1 sale or lead a week if you could have 10 or 20 or who knows how many.
And yes it could be to the point that you, if done correctly, you could be inundated with prospects, leads or customers. And there is no time like the present. If you are already out there in the ‘cosmos’, and I will concentrate on internet attraction marketing, you have already started your journey so why not keep the journey interesting and even more valuable for you and who knows who else.
Presumably, or even if you are starting out, you will have your lead capture page and the product(s) you are making available. If so you might also already be advertising (marketing) using Google Adwords or other Pay-Per-Click advertising on the internet to generate leads. And a good start at that. I started here, and I will be honest I little dazed and confused, but I got the general gist of what I was trying to achieve with “keywords’(See Keywords Post) and getting my niche to find my ads. And of course, with some finger crossing and some practice of ‘Law Of Attraction and Visualisation’, I started to generate leads who showed their interest by ‘Opting – in’ for more information. But of course not all of these leads where really the real deal. It happens, but I had to change tack. I had to generate leads and leads who where genuinely interested in what I had available. How was I going to do this and how are you going to do this? Presence and Rapport! 1st way is to be a presence online and building rapport. If people have heard of you, and even know you, you will have more influence. Building rapport with anyone in any situation, even in normal life, makes for better conversations, being at ease, respected and so on. If you are available, and don’t jump to the ‘pitch’, talk and/or share with prospects and even genuine leads, you will see a difference in results. I like this analogy from Brad Weinman – (Internet Marketing & Dancing)
“What the heck does dancing have to do with Internet marketing? Well, they both start with relationship building. To illustrate how relationship building on the Internet really works, here’s a quick story about an average guy… we’ll call him Steve.
Things had never come easily for Steve, but he worked hard and landed a decent job
after graduating from college. Now that he was employed, he figured it was a good time to get married, settle down and start a family. So he was ready to go searching for ‘Miss Right’.
One Friday night, Steve gets a call from his buddy who tells him about a local band that
was playing at the pub down the street from where he lived. They both meet up and after nursing an iced cold one for a few minutes, he looks past the crowd… and there she was… Lisa. The girl of his dreams.
Our man Steve fixes his hair, straightens his collar and walks right over to her…Their eyes meet, sparks fly… He reaches out to shake her hand and says: “Hi. Will you marry me?” Whoa!! Stop right there creep! - Talk about putting the cart before the horse… “
- B. Weinman; ‘Attraction Marketing Blueprint’ – 2008 Synergy Global Ventures, Inc.
This is a great example of jumping the gun. You don’t have a presence or build a rapport with your leads they will not respond well when you finally try and close your sale. Get yourself on the internet and start some marketing, you need to start your business, but also think of the ways you are going to be a presence on the internet.
SO I have given you a quick Mslilpeta intro to Attraction Marketing and what I like to have with my leads, rapport. Don’t jump straight to the sales pitch with your leads in conversation and in your web sites. Let your leads decided to contact you and talk to you. They know they want your product or service otherwise they wouldn’t be contacting you in the first place. In my very next installment I will go a little deeper into hoe you can generate these leads to build rapport and a presence online to help you bring even more leads to you.
